Our Pastor

  • Reverend Michael Hubbard Sr. was born in Dallas, Texas. Pastor Hubbard began preaching in October of 1989, and served as Assistant Pastor of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church for seven years before becoming the Pastor of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, in 2001. As Pastor, he continues to seek our creator our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ our Savior and, allows the Holy Spirit to direct and guide him in ministry.

    Pastor Hubbard is an alumnus of Southern Bible Institute. He graduated with honors (Cum Laude) on May 9, 2009, from The Criswell College in Dallas, Texas, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies. He also received his Advanced Masters of Divinity Degree in Biblical Studies with a concentration in Biblical languages from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, on December 13, 2013. Pastor Hubbard is presently pursuing his Doctorate also at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. As Pastor Hubbard continues to expand his wisdom and knowledge, he has stayed humble and open for the hearts of people. 

    In February of 2008, The Elite News elected our own, Pastor Hubbard as Minister of the Year and later that same year Pastor Hubbard was inducted into their Religious Hall of Fame. In April 2011, an invitation from State Representative Eric Johnson was extended to Pastor Hubbard to reside as Pastor of the day for the Texas State House of Representatives, where he delivered the invocation prayer at the opening of the House session, how blessed we were to have our pastor chosen to serve. Pastor Hubbard has a passion for providing hope to for all generations within our church and our community. He is married to our beautiful First Lady of Hopewell Tonya Hubbard. He is a loving father of 6 children. He loves reading, and has a passion for preaching and teaching God's Word.
